-Both stories about oil spills
-Both stories plug the oil spill hole with something
(BP less successful)
-Both have similar message of keeping our oceans clean
List of differences
- BP were unsuccessful in plugging the oil spill
-BP have to use different techniques
-BP took longer to solve problem
What is the author trying to tell us?

The author is trying to tell us we
should keep our oceans clean and that
they don’t support BP by their vocabulary used in the article.

    Hi Holly. Thanks for sharing your work. I like the way you used a list to be specific about the similarities and differences, and you mentioned both details and big ideas. Have you thought about including the types of texts?
